First Station: An Ancient Ocean
Look at the Megalodon teeth found in West Java, Indonesia. Aproximately 20 million years ago the regions which are now dry land were linked to warm marine environments. Megalodons, as well as various other marine species, inhabited the oceans of the past.
Megalodon as modern sharks in the present, constantly produces and loses teeth. Some of these teeth sank in sediments from the sea. Under the right conditions, burial could protect them enough to allow them to fossilize.
